Any employee who comes in contact with blood or body fluids should be assessed, evaluated and treated in our Bloodborne Pathogen program. It is important to send the employee to our clinic as soon as possible to ensure the employee is able to remain disease free. Our assessment will determine if additional treatment is needed.
If the source of the potentially hazardous fluids can be identified, our facility will attempt to have the source tested immediately for bloodborne pathogens. The testing will include:
- Hepatitis B
- Hepatitis C
- HIV
Due to the confidential nature of these types of visits, a Physicians Opinion Form will be provided. According to Center for Disease Control guidelines, this may be the only piece of information your safety department receives. It will identify the three main issues involved in any blood or body fluid exposure. The form also follows Center for Disease Control guidelines.
