DOT Exams

Parkview Occupational Health follow the Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines when performing physicals.  Employees who have a Commercial Drivers’ License are required by federal guidelines to have a DOT physical performed by an authorized medical provider. The provider completes the exam of the driver physically qualifies the driver to operate a commercial motor vehicle, the medical provider  furnishes copies of the completed exam to the driver and employer. 

Guidelines set forth by DOT include:

  • DOT physicals can be performed by any of our medical providers
  • Exam is valid for up to 24 months
  • Medical examiners can issue a certificate for less than 24 months if certain medical conditions are present
