Mask Fitting

Some employees may be required to be fitted with a respirator mask because of the hazardous fumes or chemicals with which they come in contact.  Federal guidelines determine which employees must wear a mask. These guidelines can be viewed at www.osha.gov. Testing is performed to determine that a proper seal is achieved while wearing the mask. The air testing performed is either qualitative, allowing the taste of bitterness to be dispersed in the air, or quantitative, which measures the molecules in the air.

Parkview Occupational Health has invested in the latest technology in equipment for mask fitting.  Passing a quantitative respirator fit test proves that the face-piece is sized correctly and that the employee knows how to put it on correctly. The equipment is the only instrument with built-in N95 technology to perform a quantitative fit test on an N95 respirator.

Features and Benefits:

  •  Measures fit factors greater than 10,000 molecules
  •  Computes respirator fit factor using microscopic particles in ambient air
  •  OSHA-compliant for all respirators, including N95 (Pro+)
  •  Optional mask sampling adapters allow fit testing with employee's own mask
