Occupational Health

Screening

Parkview Occupational Health performs many electrocardiograms (EKG) each year. This test will measure the electrical impulses within the heart. The equipment passes electrical impulses through the body that travel through the heart and back through the leads to the EKG machine. This can detect if your heart is beating fast or slow, irregularity of the heartbeat and the strength and timing of electrical impulses of the heart.  EKGs are important because they can detect problems with the heart such as a potential heart attack, arrhythmia and heart failure.  Portions of the heart may be extra large or overworked and will be detected during the EKG procedure.
