Wellness resources can be difficult to sort through.  Parkview Workplace Wellness recommends a few websites that are credible and trustworthy.  Use these sites to help your organization develop a wellness program or for personalized “get healthy” plans.  This information can be used to help determine the focus of a wellness program.

www.welcoa.org  -- Wellness Council of America will help your organization develop and sustain a wellness program.  This site will give you tips on how to implement the program and develop unique ideas for your program.

www.nationalwellness.org  – National Wellness Institute is a non-profit organization that promotes wellness on a global level.   This site offers many online resources to help develop your wellness leaders such as webinars and certifications.

www.health.gov/nhic  -- National Health Information Center will help you get in touch with health professionals that can answer difficult wellness questions.  This website is a referral website.

www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi  -- National Heart Lung and Blood Institute will allow employees to check their BMI online.  Input demographics about yourself and determine a healthy weight and calculate a healthy Body Mass Index.

www.mypyramid.gov  -- A government website that will allow you to develop a personalized eating plan based on your lifestyle.  This site will also help you determine food choices based on Dietary Food Guidelines in place by the FDA.

www.healthierus.gov  – A government website that is dedicated to helping individuals find a way to build a healthier lifestyle.  Website will give diet suggestions and physical activity suggestions for visitors to follow.
